Intentional Giving to God

Intentional Giving to God and his work is a subject often mentioned in the bible. Some times people who love the Lord misrepresent his plan for giving, but not on purpose. Giving is a part of God's plan for producing increase.

Giving starts in seed form then produces a return that is far bigger than the seed sown. There is a depth, breadth, width and height to giving and receiving. The Lord will teach us his way if we keep open ears to his voice and have an open heart. Jesus said the kingdom of God is like a man casting a seed into the ground and he describes the growth process.

Mark 4:26-29

The Parable of the Growing Seed

²⁶He also said, “This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. ²⁷Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. ²⁸All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head. ²⁹As soon as the grain is ripe, he puts the sickle to it, because the harvest has come.”

Luke 6:38
